How do we collect your data?
You directly provide Funeral Care Spain with most of the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:
- Register online or place an order for any of our products or services.
- Voluntarily complete a customer survey or provide feedback on any of our message boards or via email.
- Use or view our website via your browser’s cookies.
- Contract services person to person or via Email
Our Company may also receive your data indirectly from the following sources:

How do we store your data?
Our Company securely stores your data at our registered offices.
Our Company will keep relevant contracted data for a maximum of 2 years. Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data by digital deletion or physical distruction in compliance with GDPR.
Marketing
We do not use client data for marketing policies nor release or sell such information to third parties
Camera and CCTV operations
Some of our locations and vehicles do operate closed circuit recording of visual and audio. this is for the safety of our employees, clients and visitors.
Access is strictly limited to senior employees, management and the owner of the company, any recordings are kept on a secure device with password protection.
Normal procedure includes deletion of images after 30days unless an incident occurs which may require future investigation.
These locations all have clear signage in accordance with the local laws
General procedures
All data obtained by our company is normally destroyed after 30 days from the emission of death certification, with the exception of items listed below
On obtaining any personal information the client is asked to read and sign a consent form so they are aware of our policies and procedures and consent for us to use the information where necessary only.
We implement safeguards outlined by the European Commission.
All data obtained stays within our system only. We do not share any information with any third parties.
All of the data obtained is for internal use and the civil registry judicial authorites. This allows for us to carry out the service and the cremation/burial/repatriation of the deceased.
We have a legal obligation to hold basic information of the deceased for 2 years, should the need arise to exhume the deceased or cremated remains.
This consists of name, ID number, address and location of burial or cremation.
Physical Credit Card payment slips, if printed, have to be retained by law for 6 years after which this information is destroyed in line with government disposal policies.
Certain information is also required for company tax purposes such as invoices and reference numbers. This data is destroyed after 6 years.
This data consists of the deceased name, the bill payers name and ID number and the amount paid.
Technology is used to help store clients sensitive information. Due to the nature of the data we only store such information on a secure private network with high level passcodes and anti-malware software to decrease the risk of any data breach.
Access to this information is limited to only those who directly need it within the company.
All our software products and anti-virus / anti-malware programmes are auto updated for maximum protection of personal information.
No personal / sensitive data is stored within any internet cloud.
Funeral Care Spain regularly reviews it´s information, security policies and measures.
We will only contact an individual regarding our services with due cause or if consent has previously been given to do so.
All of our Privacy Policies are clear and concise they are on all related documentation, emails and website.
In agreement with Organic Personal Data Law we inform you that your information is stored within a file held by Funeral Care Spain, with the objective of maintaining our business relationships. With regards to our book keeping all invoices are kept on site for a maximum of 1 month after which these documents are taken and stored with our accounting team (Gonzalez Del CID Hijo SC) who are fully trained and covered in the GDPR regulations.
Passports – We only need a photo / copy of these documents for the authorities in order to register and process the death of an individual. At no point will any member of Funeral Care Spain take a passport away from you as this is not necessary. All of this information once the funeral has taken place will be destroyed after a maximum of 2 years in accordance with the law and GDPR guidelines.
Contract Documents, Declaracion Jurada, and Authorizacion de Incineracion – These documents are signed and dated and will only be used by Funeral Care Spain whilst we process the death of your loved one, after which the information will be stored by ourselves in securely for a maximum of 2 years in accordance with the law and GDPR Guidelines
What are your data protection rights?
Our Company would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:
The right to access – You have the right to request Our Company for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.
The right to rectification – You have the right to request that Our Company correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request Funeral Care Spain to complete the information you believe is incomplete.
